DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE AND PARKING Athens, Ga., is located about 65 miles northeast of Atlanta. The Run/Walk for Home 5k will start in front of the News Building, which is located at the corner of Broad and Thomas Streets in downtown Athens. DIRECTIONS: From Atlanta, take I-85 East, exit on GA 316 - take GA 316 about 50 miles into Athens. 316 takes you to Atlanta Highway. Stay on Atlanta Highway to downtown Athens. The News Building is located on the corner of Atlanta Highway (Broad Street) and Thomas Street. From Macon and middle and south Georgia, take US 441 North to Athens. US 441 and GA (Loop) 10 become one. This will loop you around the southern side of Athens. Exit the loop at the exit reading Downtown Athens/Airport. Turn left at the light at the end of the exit ramp. You will be on Business 78 (Oak Street) heading west. Continue until you hit the Thomas Street/Broad Street intersection. The News Building is on the corner on your right. From the east (Greenville, Clemson, Anderson, SC), take I-85 west to Commerce. Exit US 441 south. Follow US 441 into downtown Athens. You will end up on Thomas Street. The News Building is located on the corner of Broad Street and Thomas Street. PARKING: Parking is available for a modest fee in several parking decks within walking distance of Run/Walk registration and the starting point in front of The News Building on Thomas Street (marked by asterisks on course map).
